National Apprenticeship Week 2021 Events Round-Up

National Apprenticeship Week is back for another year in 2021, running from 8th February to 14th February. You can find out all you need to know about apprenticeships and hear straight from employers / apprentices as they share their experiences in a range of webinars, events, Q&A sessions and conferences.

There are lots of exciting, free, and informative events and webinars running throughout the week for students, teachers, and parents to get involved in. We've put together a list of activities you don't want to miss, if you’re interested in any listed below, simply click on the title to register. If you're interested in working at a specific company make sure you visit their social media channels to see if they're holding any insight events or Q&A sessions with current apprentices.

The BIG Assembly - Tuesday 11:10 & On-Demand

Hear from current apprentices across the UK and find out why an apprenticeship may be the right option for you. The panel will also discuss their experiences in civil engineering, the police force, and commercial management.

You can also stream the 2020 BIG Assembly on-demand, with a panel of guests from companies such as the BBC, Virgin Media & Morrisons on-demand.

UCAS Apprenticeship Fair - Tuesday 12:00-18:00

At the UCAS Apprenticeship Fair you can (virtually) meet with employers and apprenticeship providers to discover what apprenticeship opportunities are available. You will be able to take part in live sessions and have your questions answered by experts.

Live Employer Twitter Q&A- Tuesday 12:00-14:00

The National Apprenticeship service is holding a Q&A with apprentices, simply tweet using the hashtag #AskAnEmployer to have your questions answered.

Meet The Russell Group Virtual Fair - Wednesday 12:00-19:00

Did you know that lots of universities offer degree apprenticeships as well as standard degrees? Stop by the Meet The Russell Group event to speak to representatives from all 24 Russell Group universities and find out more about degree apprenticeships.

Live Twitter Apprentice Q&A- Wednesday 12:00-14:00

The National Apprenticeship service is holding a Q&A with apprentices, simply tweet using the hashtag #AskAnApprentice to have your questions answered.

UCAS CV & Interview Workshops- Wednesday 12:15-14:45 & On-Demand

In order to land your dream apprenticeship you’ll need a killer CV, application and to be prepared for the interview. Participate in a live CV workshop and a live interview workshop to get the tips you need. You can also stream ‘ten easy tips to ace your interview’ and ‘the application clinic’ on-demand from 12:15 on Wednesday.

BT: Demystifying Apprenticeships Webinar - Wednesday 19:00-20:00

BT and Apprenticeship Nation are collaborating to bring you a live Q&A session where you can discover the world of apprenticeships.

Department of Education: Why Should You Consider an Apprenticeship? - Thursday 09:00-10:00

This session will provide an overview of the different levels of apprenticeship, entry requirements, education and training, and what students can expect from an apprenticeship.

Amazon: Degree Level Apprenticeships Webinar- Thursday 11:00-12:00

In this webinar Amazon representatives and current apprentices will discuss the Amazon degree level apprenticeship programmes and cover the benefits of apprenticeships.

Virtual Careers Event - Thursday 13:00-16:00

Speak directly with employers and universities across Birmingham to learn more about their opportunities at the virtual careers fair. Employers such as the West Midlands Police, Arden University, the University of Birmingham, and the Birmingham & Solihull Mental Health Trust will be in attendance.

Careers Advice & Development - Thursday 13:00-14:00

The Birmingham City Council apprenticeship team will be holding a virtual general Careers Advice & Development guidance workshop.

National Apprenticeship Week - Parents, Carers & Educators Info Session- Thursday 18:00-19:00

The South Tyneside Council, Job Centre Plus and ASK is holding an info session where parents, carers & educators can hear from current apprentices and find out how they can support their children/students' applications.

Bank of England: Think University Is The Only Way? Think Again (Webinar) - Thursday 16:00-17:00

Learn more about the Apprenticeship Development Programmes at the Bank of England and what a career there can offer you.

IBM Apprenticeships - Ask an Apprentice Virtual Panel - Friday 12:00-13:00

A panel of IBM apprentices will discuss their experiences as level 3 - 6 apprentices, as well as answering any questions you have. IBM Interns will also be there to provide an insight into the university v apprenticeship debate.

A Day In The Life of an Apprentice - Friday 13:00-14:00

Apprentices from Hartlepool Learning & Skills Service will be sharing their experiences and discussing why they chose the apprenticeship route over other employment / university routes.

Ask The Apprentice Conference - Build Your Future - Friday 12:00-14:30

The BAME Apprenticeship Awards are working in Partnership with Pearson to bring you the Ask The Apprentice Conference. Hear from current apprentices around the UK, and discover how you can make the most of your apprenticeship. The event also features networking sessions so you can meet other prospective apprentices and employers.

Parents & Carers Webinar - Saturday 11:00-12:30

The apprenticeship team from Abington & Witney College and the apprenticeship team from the University of Oxford are holding a webinar aimed at the parents and carers of potential apprentices.
